Our Services

As financial advisers our job is to make sure you have the financial plan you need to help you achieve your goals and aspirations, and the right products to match that plan

However, before we even think about making any recommendations, we conduct a thorough fact find to ensure we understand your current circumstances and goals for the future. Then, and only then, do we put together a plan of action which is designed to help achieve your objectives and provide you with peace of mind. It may be a cliché, but our service is totally about what's best for you, not us. These are some of the areas that we can help you with...

Our areas of expertise

  • Retirement planning

    Retirement should be a time to enjoy ourselves, not to worry about money, so our retirement planning service aims to help you do just that. Whether your retirement is some way off in the future and you need to set up a pension, you are approaching retirement, or indeed are already there, we can review your existing arrangements, identify any gaps and ensure your pension plans really do add up to the type of retirement you want. And because we are not tied to any one provider we can shop around to find the most suitable retirement related products from across the market.

    With the newfound freedom now available to retirees, that means giving you access to your pension pot when you retire, we'll help you make the right choices so that you don't end up in a difficult position later. You see, retirement planning is one of our expert subjects.

    As part of our service, we'll talk you through all your options, including the support available to you from the State, so that you take full advantage of any financial benefits which are available to you.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224

    NOTE: A pension is a long-term investment and the fund value may fluctuate and can go down. Your eventual income may depend upon the size of the fund at retirement, future interest rates and tax legislation.

  • Wealth Management

    Our Wealth Management Service is designed for clients with at least £250k of invested assets. Wealth Management clients are primarily concerned with minimising the amount of tax they pay on their investments and wealth preservation.

    These clients have relatively complex financial affairs that require an attentive service often involving us working with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplined team.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: The value of investments and the income from them may go down. You may not get the original amount invested.

  • Inheritance tax (IHT) planning

    Our inheritance tax planning service is designed to keep your hard earned money in the family and help avoid your loved ones having to pay a hefty tax on any inheritance you leave them. Through careful planning that's tailored to your individual needs, you can mitigate inheritance tax, or avoid it altogether, by arranging investments into trust, using life policies, changing your will, as well as through other different methods.

    It's worth saying at this point that when calculating your estate, it includes your house, car, savings, valuables etc., so please don't fall into the trap of thinking it doesn't affect you.

    When you consider that anything you leave your loved ones over the IHT allowance is charged at 40%, it is a lot of money for the tax man. The current allowance is £325,000 for 2018/19 tax year. Additionally, a new 'main residence nil rate band' was introduced on a phased basis starting in 2017.

    We'll explain all this to you and help you minimise the financial impact on your loved ones.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate inheritance tax & trust planning and will writing.

    Tax treatment is based on individual circumstances and may be subject to change in the future.

    Information is based on our current understanding of taxation legislation and regulations. Any levels and bases of, and reliefs from taxation, are subject to change.

  • Building an effective investment portfolio

    If you're looking to invest for the future then we can help put together an investment portfolio that meets your objectives.

    Whether you like to take risks with the aim to generate higher returns, or you don't like to take risks but still like the idea of potential improved returns from your money than what's available via traditional savings accounts, we'll recommend the most suitable investment solutions for you.

    This could include investment bonds, unit trusts or even the latest WRAP (a service that combines or 'wraps' all of a client’s investment into a single manageable account) and asset management systems that put together and manage a range of different funds that all work together to meet your needs. It goes without saying that we'll help you make the most of any tax allowances that are available, such as the New Individual Savings Accounts (NISAs) which enable you to shelter some of your savings from the taxman.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: The value of investments and the income from them may go down. You may not get the original amount invested.

  • Financial advice for your business

    Businesses require specialist financial advice such as making sure key people are protected in case of illness or death, help getting a group pension scheme set up, or group protection cover for your staff. We can provide the financial advice you need to make sure you have the right products for your business.

    Pension Auto Enrolment is hot on the agenda right now so if you run a business that employs staff, we can help you set up and run an employee pension scheme that meets the stringent requirements of The Pensions Regulator and which fits the specific needs of your business.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: The Pensions Regulator is the Statutory Regulator for workplace pensions.

    The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate auto enrolment.

  • Taxation planning

    There are numerous ways that you can make the most of the tax allowances available and keep your money away from the tax man. With our expertise, we can review your situation and plans, and then put together an effective plan to help you make the most of the opportunities available. When you consider the additional 45% income tax, 28% capital gains tax for higher rate tax payers and even 40% inheritance tax, there is lot to be gained by getting expert help.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate inheritance tax planning or taxation advice.

    Tax treatment is based on individual circumstances and may be subject to change in the future.

    Information is based on our current understanding of taxation legislation and regulations. Any levels and bases of, and reliefs from taxation, are subject to change.

  • Mortgages

    We offer a comprehensive range of mortgage products from across the market. We offer both first and second charge mortgages, but not deals that you can only obtain by going direct to a lender.

    For those seeking to increase their existing borrowing, alternative finance options may be available and more appropriate for your needs. For example, a further advance from your existing lender or an unsecured loan (e.g. a personal loan). For those seeking a ‘Retirement Interest Only Mortgage’, a ‘Lifetime Mortgage’ may be available and more appropriate for your needs.

    For establishing your needs, undertaking research and making a recommendation, we may typically charge a fee of £250.

    Our fee becomes payable when we provide you with our recommendation(s).

    If you choose to proceed with our recommendations and the mortgage goes ahead, we will also be paid commission from the lender for arranging the mortgage on your behalf.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

    NOTE: A mortgage is a loan secured against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage or any other debt secured on it.

  • Long-term care planning

    Whether you are planning your own provision, acting as attorney, or assisting a family member with funding care fees, the process of funding suitable cover at home or considering a care home can be extremely daunting.

    Helping a loved one come to terms with the thought of long-term care can be very difficult in itself but this stress can be made much worse when it comes to ensuring care costs can be met.

    As financial advisers, we can help you by:

    • Listening to your individual needs and helping to determine your priorities
    • Providing advice and assistance regarding eligibility for NHS and state benefits
    • Providing advice and recommendations on financial aspects of paying for care
    • Addressing any IHT mitigation
    • Providing support and information to everyone involved in the planning process

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

  • Equity release: unlock money from your home for a more comfortable retirement

    Equity release is typically available to people who are over the age of 55 and have their own home with a significant amount of equity, but don’t have enough money or income for their needs. By releasing equity in the form of a lifetime mortgage or home reversion plan, it enables the individual(s) to remain in their home and raise money for things such as:

    • to generate a capital lump sum;
    • to provide an additional income;
    • to provide lifetime gifts to relatives;
    • for home improvements;
    • for holiday home purchase;
    • to fund long-term care.

    Where equity release is a suitable solution and you take out a lifetime mortgage or home reversion plan, the money does not usually need to be paid back or the home sold until the last remaining borrower dies or moves into care, although this may not be the case, for example if you make repayments to preserve as much of the inheritable estate as possible.

    Is equity release right for me?

    Whilst there are benefits for people in this situation, equity release isn’t for everyone and the benefits need to be weighed up alongside drawbacks, such as equity release can:

    • be expensive;
    • impact on you being able to claim certain state benefits and your personal tax position;
    • impact on local authority grants / other grants (i.e. for essential home improvements);
    • potentially erode any inheritance passed down to loved ones.

    Also, there may be alternative options available to you that need to be explored before taking the equity release route, such as consideration of a conventional mortgage as an alternative, moving to a smaller home, using any savings or investments and potentially selling the home and moving into rented accommodation or living with children or other relatives.

    Don’t worry as we can help you understand all the features and drawbacks so you can make a fully informed decision.

    Expert financial advice on what is right for you

    As financial advisers with the required equity release qualification and training, we can assess your individual circumstances and needs, and then give you expert advice on the right course of action for you. The benefits need to outweigh the drawbacks to ensure equity release is more suitable than alternative methods of raising funds.

    It’s often said that you can’t buy peace of mind; however that’s exactly what our financial service does, as you can rest assured knowing you have the right solution for you.

    It is advised that customers seek independent legal advice before entering into a legally binding equity release contract.

    NOTE: Equity release may require a lifetime mortgage or home reversion plan. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration.

  • Insurance & protection

    We know protection and insurance isn't an easy subject to think about. However, once sorted, insurance and protection is designed to give you peace of mind that you will have financial protection against unfortunate things that life could throw at you. Having the right cover could be the best investment you make.

    There’s a wide range of different types of insurance and protection available. This includes life cover which pays a lump sum to your loved ones should you die, critical illness cover which pays you a lump sum if you’re diagnosed with certain critical illnesses, policies which will pay you an income if you’re unable to work due to an accident or sickness, and home insurance which is designed to protect your home and its contents.

    As part of our service we can assess your individual circumstances and make sure you have the right cover for your individual needs, giving you peace of mind about the future.

    To arrange an initial meeting with one of our financial advisers call 01604 654224.

Our Approach - Advice With Peace of Mind

We want you to rest assured knowing that you're in safe hands

We are not tied to any one product provider so we can search the market to find the most suitable products for your needs.

But, before we do anything, the first thing we will do is conduct a thorough fact find on your current financial circumstances, together with your aspirations for the future. We'll then put together a plan providing you with our recommendations, which includes the products which are most suitable for your needs.

We'll explain everything in plain English, including details of what our service will include and our charges, and we will create a personal report providing you with recommendations and a plan of action which is totally tailored to your needs. If you have any questions at all, or you want to involve a close friend or family member, you only have to ask.
